Hundreds Helped: How Y’all Squad Responded Within 24 Hours to Historic West Virginia Flooding

When relentless rain swept across northern West Virginia on Father’s Day weekend, lives were uprooted in an instant. Streets turned into rivers, basements filled with water, and families were left to confront the aftermath of one of the most destructive flash floods the region has seen in years. Communities like Wheeling, Pleasant Valley, and Fairmont faced damage, displacement, and despair.
Within hours of the flooding, the Y’all Squad team received word that help was needed—and without hesitation, we moved. Because that’s what we do. We respond swiftly, efficiently, and with heart.

Mobilizing in Record Time
By Sunday afternoon, we were on alert. And by Monday morning—less than 24 hours later—our team had mobilized from Pikeville, KY. Director Dalton Stevens and Regional Logistics Coordinator Tanner Newsome led the charge. By 7:00 a.m., our Kentucky box truck was being loaded with critical supplies. By 10:00 a.m., we were on the road. And by that evening, our first round of aid had been delivered in Wheeling.
This was not a routine deployment. It was an all-hands-on-deck response fueled by preparation, experience, and an unwavering commitment to getting help where it’s needed—fast.
What We Delivered
During this deployment, the Y’all Squad delivered nearly $40,000 worth of urgently needed supplies to families across Wheeling, Pleasant Valley, and Fairmont. These weren’t general donations—they were hand-selected, disaster-specific essentials designed to address immediate recovery needs:
Over 100 dehumidifiers to combat moisture and prevent mold
Nearly 150 box fans to aid ventilation in damaged homes
Sump pumps to help residents drain water from their properties
Thousands of paper towels and toilet paper rolls
Bleach, disinfectant wipes, mops, gloves, and industrial-strength trash bags
Shovels, push brooms, sleeping cots, and tents to support recovery and temporary shelter efforts
Each item loaded into our truck represented hope. And every delivery was a message to these communities: You are not alone.
Strategic, Local Partnerships
Our success depended on strong relationships with local leaders. In Wheeling, we coordinated directly with Scott Griffith, Operations Director at WesBanco Arena. In Pleasant Valley, we worked closely with Mayor Emily Haddix to understand and meet the specific needs of her community. These connections allowed us to act with precision and purpose.
Meanwhile, our internal logistics and communication teams worked continuously to ensure every mile driven and every item delivered brought us closer to helping families regain control over their lives.

Maximizing Impact with Minimal Overhead
Thanks to the generosity of local partners, our team incurred zero lodging expenses. The Courtyard Marriott in Bridgeport, WV, under the leadership of General Manager Roxanne, graciously provided rooms and meals. This generosity meant that every available dollar could be put toward purchasing and delivering relief supplies.
This kind of stewardship—combined with operational discipline and volunteer dedication—is what allows the Y’all Squad to do so much.
Beyond the Flood: Ongoing Needs
While the immediate danger has passed, recovery is far from over. Homes still need repairs. Families are still replacing what was lost. That’s why we’re still watching, listening, and preparing.
Our team is actively seeking verified stories of families in need—those who lost vehicles, who are living in damaged homes, or who simply don’t know where to turn next. When we identify a need where we can make a real difference, we will act—just like we did in West Virginia.
Stand With Us
The Y’all Squad isn’t just a team—it’s a movement made up of people who believe that compassion should be swift and that help should be hands-on. Our West Virginia deployment reminded us that when people come together with purpose, there is no such thing as “too late.”
If you believe in that mission, we invite you to stand with us.
Thank you for believing in fast, focused, and heartfelt relief. Thank you for believing in the Y’all Squad.
